Transient

The city can be draining for your soul. With the weekend around the corner, I made a knee-jerk plan to get out of it. The timing was perfect. It’s monsoon here in India and the outskirts are the perfect at this time to explore.

This trek to Lohagad was my ticket to some serenity to wash off  my jaded soul (might be getting dramatic here). The location was a few hours out of Mumbai.

Being weekend, there were hoards of people at the location who had the same idea – get away from the city and its crowd. Only to end up with another crowd. *sigh*
But! The trek was totally worth it.

The nature was lush,  green and not blistering! It was beautiful. The on and off spells of rains and the smell of clean air was the drug I needed to escape. The company of friends helped too.

The location was perfect for spacing out. Although I must admit, I am an okay trekker. Being naturally clumsy and prone to falling off flat surfaces, lets just say I am not a natural.

It was an easy level grind, and the views were definitely worth all the effort.

The clouds at the top of the hill. Literally, a walk in the clouds. This spot was heaven for me.

The doggo was the best trekker ever. Puts humans to shame. Tbh.
The view from the fort

The descent, the steep swirling slopes hinted at the climb we’d successfully completed .
Exhausted and returning back to the civilisation. The rain splatter was oddly comforting.

This day perfectly described the word transient for me. The short moment up there walking amidst the clouds was the escape I needed, badly.

Hoping for more of these weekend escapades.
