The Ruthless Visitor

It came knocking at my door again

With its ugly face

And an aura that stank

I tried to get away.

I truly did

Instead it embraced me

Made me its friend

Took a corner of my soul

Resided there and won’t let go.
At first, I refused to recognize it

Not sure if its an old friend

The one that I got rid of

Or a new fleeting one

A fear.

—-

The lines between depression and sadness

Blur

Till they are in you

Then you know.
